Miracle at Walmart, Cheese and Dog Spit

Hi Friends,

Miracle at Walmart:
I experienced a miracle at Walmart today. I do NOT like going to Walmart, but it is a fact of my life that I have to go sometimes. Do you all remember when the checkers at Walmart actually placed your purchases in your buggy for you. For the longest time after they installed those pesky carosell looking things I would push my buggy all the way around so the checker would still have to put my groceries in. I guess I was just annoyed by the whole thing, but I eventually matured and decided to go with the self service flow. This brings me to my miracle. I was at Walmart yesterday and purchased many items and dutifully loaded the into my buggy MYSELF. Well in the course of completing my transaction, I left a bag on the stupid carosel thingy (how do you spell carosel?) I was sad when I got home and my cute pool toys for Emily and my new nailpolish were nowhere to be found. After realizing what happened, I thought I was just out 18 bucks, but my friend advised me to go on in and check with the service desk to see if they could help. I was sure it was going to be a giant hastle followed by me still being out 18 bucks, but low and behold, a miracle happened. A wonderful lady at the service desk named Paulette heard my tale of woe and told me, "go grab what you are missing and bring it back to me" at which point she returned/resold me my items resulting in me not being out 18 bucks and having my purchases. YEAH Walmart, Paulette, you have elevated your franchise a couple notches today.

Cheese and Dog Spit:
Today Emily said she wanted a little bag of Cheetos we have here and I said Ok. About four Cheetos in, she decided she didn't want them and began feeding them to the dogs. They were very grateful and so all our pups had a little snack. A side effect of cheetos is of course cheesy fingers so I told Emily we needed to wash her hands because she had Cheese and Dog Spit on them. She proceeded to repeat "Cheese and Dog Spit" several times. I am afraid when she retells this story as she often does she is going to mis pronounce the Spit portion of the story and really surprise some people. :)

Here are some pics of her from the last few days/weeks. We went to the zoo and she had a great time. David and I are trying to get out of town where it is not 1000 degrees, apparently Iceland is really nice this time of year. :) For now I am roasting corn on the grill and David is setting up Emily's kiddy pool. Enjoy the fourth everyone.

Love yall,
Till Next time

  1. I'm glad Walmart did you right, last time I was there my calaba squash was entered as zuccini, a .49 cents a pound difference, my apples were entered at a .20 cents a pound difference, the
nectarines were entered at $1.78 a pound when the sign said .98 per pound and the printer ink clearly said $13.48 each and I was charged $14.97.

I am at the point where I write the price of everything I purchase next to the item on my list.
    GEEZ...
I never have that problem at HEB.

    Anyway....
