Today was lawn day! David and Spent yesterday evening and all day today working in our backyard. I am not an outdoors-y person and I don't really like doing yard work. I had my fair share of lawn work when I was a kid and it was up to my sister and I to get the yard cut. (Many arguments over who was doing the front and who was doing the back--the back was bigger,--did not leave me with a burning desire for lawn care) What I do have, is a burning desire to entertain in my backyard. As the weather warms and things begin to bloom, I find myself longing to get our and grill and hang out on my back patio.
So today we bagged like thirty bags of leaves and debris from our yard. My parents are coming over next weekend to plant caladiums and petunias in my newly cleared beds. The yard itself is looking kind of sad right now, but we are going to replace the grass that is missing with either sod or seed.
Emily had lots of fun with us in the yard today. She played in the dirt, and wanted to help, so daddy gave her a little rake and she carried it around. Lots of fun.
We will have the yard all spiffy in no time.
After all the work, we went to the Outback and had a nice supper. Emily loved her chicken and sat up in her booster seat like a good girl.
Now we are watching Precious--very sad.
