Palm Sunday and A Disappointing Dinner

Today was Palm Sunday at Trinity. We made our yearly walk around the church following the donkey Burvick and waving our palm fronds in the air shouting, "Hosanna, in the highest". I am sure we are quite a sight to the passing cars, but it is just another thing that makes being an Episcopalian unique. It also helps to immerse us into the story of Jesus' last week and prepare us for the coming Holy week. Here are some pics...

Our good friends, Glenda and Charles Patterson, were up from Austin and we enjoyed a nice lunch with them and the Varnells at Luby's. Emily had a mini meltdown at the restaurant and conked right out when we got home. David and I enjoyed a much needed nap as well.

Disappointing Dinner

After we woke up, we all played outside and moved the BBQ grill and realized it was already 7:20 and we hadn't eaten so we decided to give one of our favorite old restaurants another try. When David and I were dating, we would often go to Joe's Pizza on McCann Road for dinner. The food was really good and the waitresses were so friendly and personable. The atmosphere was like "Cheers" they knew your name and what you wanted to drink as soon as you sat down. David and I have been avoiding Joe's for a while because the service had really gone down hill. Our favorite waitresses were gone and replaced by people with no personality and little knowledge of the menu.

Well tonight we attempted to give them a second chance and I was very disappointed. Our waitress did not even know what was on the menu. I had to literally point to it on the page. Then our food was just mediocre at best and they served the Chicken Genova I ordered on angel hair pasta which is to skinny too support the creamy sauce.

I am worried for the future of Joe's since there were few people there and I have noticed that the parking lot has been very deserted when I have been by. It is sad when one of your favorite places loses its spark.

Tomorrow I will work out and get my homework done for the last week of class before a much needed break.
