Make sure you turn on the right Burner!

Today was an adventure. Emily and I had a great morning. We read books, we colored, we played in the pillows. She is so fun.

We enjoyed a great lunch with our friends, Sarah, Ben and Sadie. Emily has been asking about them for a while now and it was good to catch up and share some time with friends. Isn't it nice how God sends just the right people into our lives when we need them. I am so thankful for friends.
After a wonderful nap for Emily and the conclusion of a good book for me, it was time to make dinner. Tonights menu was spaghetti and garlic toast, Yummo. I would have made a salad, but I am out of lettuce, tomatoes and pretty much everything else. (grocery store tomorrow)...

Anyway, I was making my sauce and turned on the back right burner to heat the water for pasta. Off I got to the pantry for some tomotoes. I come back to the stove and there is SMOKE. OMG, what is happening? Turns out I turned on the wrong burner and I was "storing" a couple things on the stove (David has warned me about that before..smartypants) and they kind of caught on fire a bit. No worries though, kitchen intact, will need to get Emily a new lunchbox and I will need a new chopper thingy as they were casualties of my carelessness. See pics below.

Supper turned out OK after the smoke cleared. Hehe.
Had a nice evening. Emily got a little fussy before bedtime, but she is off to sleep now. Here are some pics from the last few days.

Emily wearing her raincoat, never know when a shower might strike in the living room.

Emily watching Clifford the Big Red Dog, she likes Clifford.

Tomorrow, we are off to the splash pad for some fun in the sun.

  1. Tricha - don't feel like the lone ranger on this one, just recently melted a hole in the side of my dish pan. What's the splash pad?
