Car Dealers..UGH

I know I am way behind on my blog, but life is busy :).

Emily has been doing better at staying in her own bed at night. She has just gone back to wanting us to rock her to sleep. This is fine with me since one day she might turn into a surly teenager and not want anything to do with me. So for now, I will rock her and sing to her and laugh with her all she wants.

David has been trying to sell his truck for the past couple months because the payment on both our cars was just too high. He listed it on Auto Trader and got some offers, but all too low. Last week, he went to Henderson and found a good car and a decent deal. The funny part is he looked on the internet and did all kinds of research on the car, but when we got to the dealership, the car was not even there, :) A saleman had taken it for the weekend. The guys at the dealership were so nice, on Monday, they drew up all the paperwork and brought the car to Longview to David's office, no hastles. I can highly recommend this small town dealer. Randall Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep in Henderson Texas. Super easy to work with.

We decided we would try and get out of my car too, Its payment was also too high. That is what we get for buying two brand new cars. So Wednesday we went looking at mini vans all over town. I hate car shopping for a number of reasons. 1. Pushy salespeople 2. Slow deal making 3. Dealers assuming I am too stupid to figure out numbers. Our last stop of the day was the Kia dealer in Longview. We found a minivan that we liked and had all the features we wanted. We told the dealer what was owed on our car and told them to work up some numbers and we would come back tomorrow since we had to get Emily from school. Today we go back, and they havent even started to deal yet. WHAT!! So two hours later they bring us a deal that is NOT what we hoped for. The lender was basically charging usary rates because our credit is not great. We told them we had to go because Emily needed a nap.

We called our own banker and she was happy to finance the car for us at a reasonable payment and interest rate, (Thank you Austin Bank) so after a whole lot of frustration, we will pick up the new ride tomorrow. I have learned my lesson both about buying new cars, and going to the dealership with my own financing.

Personally, I think car dealers and policticians are the same sort of breed, lots of talk, not enough action.

Tomorrow is pumpkin patch with friends and dinner in Kigore. Woo Hoo!!

Later
