Hi Everyone,
The last time I blogged it was 9/11. I swear I just closed my eyes for a second and here we are at 9/20 already. What happended??
Things must have be running smoothly around here since I have little to report.
Emily was sent home with a note from the teacher about her disobeying a week and a half ago and yesterday she was sent HOME from school for her behavior (NOT GOOD).
David went to pick her up and she is really not feeling well at all. He took her to the doctor and turns out she has bronchitis. We are starting antibiotics tomorrow and Emily will likely be home from school for the rest of the week. She keeps asking me, "Am I through with school?" I tell her, "Not quite yet" I wonder if she doesn't really like her new teacher.

School for me on the other hand is going really well. My mentor teacher says I am a natural and that I will be a department head one day. She said she will write me a great recommendation and is already trying to help me get on as a permanent substitute in January if there is a spot. She is such a sweet lady and a great teacher.
Today was my first formal observation. I will be observed a total of 3 times by the university field supervisor during my student teaching. Today went really well and I thought I did a good job for a beginner. At least no one was hurt :)
Some notes I received from my field supervisor were that I talk too fast, so true, I have been trying to work on that, but people just need to listen faster. It was a good experience over all.
I did realize, when you are observing and the teacher has 5 min at the end of the lesson, it seems to fly by, when you are teaching and you have 5 min left at the end of the lesson, it is an ETERNITY...All about perspective I guess.
I will try and not pull another Rip van Winkle and lose two weeks.
Till next time...
You go girl...Of course you're a NATURAL!
ReplyDeleteSorry about EM not feeling well. I hope she gets better soon.
