Splashy, VBS, "unofficial" first day of school

It was a busy weekend and has been a very exciting start to our week. Over the weekend we were excited to go the our friend Ava Collins' birthday party at the splash pad. Emily wasn't sure at first about the water, but after a few minutes she got right in there and had a great time. Here are some pics:






After a restful Sunday (we played hooky from church) we cleaned house and went to lunch with a friend. After a family nap we relaxed for the rest of the day.

Today was the first day of Vacation Bible School and Emily's cousin Caitlin came with to help. The tugboat tots had a great time. Here are Emily and Caitlin taking a little break.




Today was Emily's unofficial first day of school. I say unofficial for two reasons, first, she is only going in the afternoons when we finish VBS and secondly because I didn't get a cute first day of school picture to post, so I will get one tomorrow :) She did great when I dropped her off, no screaming or fussing, she just went with the teacher to play with the other children. I missed her the moment I was back in the car and wanted to rush back in to get her. I thought about her all afternoon and just couldn't stand it anymore, I went to pick her up early at 4:30. When I opened the door to her class, she RAN to me saying "Mamamamama", I could not have been happier, She really does love me :) The teacher said she was fussy and only slept for thirty minutes, but she will get the hang of it and so will I after a few weeks I guess.

Had a really good eating day today. For breakfast I had one little pop tart and for lunch I came home and made tuna salad on double fiber bread and had some high fiber Sun chips. For supper we had bar b que baked chicken with steamed potatoes and green beans. Yummo

Tomorrow is another fun filled day of VBS and school, I might go see a movie tomorrow afternoon to keep my mind off missing my munchkin.
