Older and Wiser

This evening I was looking over my transcripts on my college website. I was so proud to find that I have made all A's since I returned to school in February 2008. It is amazing to me that when I was younger and in school, I did not take things seriously and certainly did not make stellar grades. Alas, I am much older and it appears wiser. I think it helps to know what you want to do with your education. When I was fresh out of high school, I had no idea what I wanted to be when I grew up. I remember when I was a kid wanting to be a paratrooper, then I went through a phase where I wanted to be Chairmen of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (My dad was in the military when I was a kid). At one point I thought I wanted to be a nurse, three failed attempts at Anatomy and Physiology cured me of that thought :)

After looking back over the short span of my life, I realized that I had the most fun when I was in school, learning something. I remember being a kid and "getting" an idea for the first time. It was so wonderful to know something that I had not known before. That's when it hit me, I can get paid to learn stuff, and help others learn stuff. This is when I decided to become a teacher. Sure did take the long way on that one, but as an older and wiser student I appreciate the learning more and certainly take it more seriously this time around. I cannot wait to be the person who helps a student "get it" !

In Other News:
Emily started the fall semester at Oak Forest today. She looked adorable in her little pleated skirt and polo shirt. I have GOT to take more pics of that kiddo and get them posted. She is talking up a storm. Her favorite words are CHOC-O-LATE and GUAC-A-MOLE. She sounds them out and it is sooo cute. Her new sentence is, "I wanna watch Clifford" I hear it everyday now.

I visited with Christy, Nathan, baby Micah and big brother Noah today at the hospital. I know they must be going stir crazy in that room, but they will be home very soon. Micah is so sweet and quiet, content to snooze in the arms of all who would hold him. (Sarah, go to the hospital to hold him, I will watch Sadie :) )

STILL NO EGGS!! I got the results of my progesterone today and this little chicken is still not laying any eggs. SOOO... we will change to a new medication and see if we can make any headway. I am proud of myself for not having a breakdown over not ovulating, but I think I had already prepared myself. (Must remember, God's plan, not Tricha's plan)

David's back is STILL hurting. It will get better and then start hurting again. He really is in a lot of pain, he grimaces, it hurts so much, and he is not really a grimacer (is that a word?). Anyway, I hope he gets better soon. I hate to see him in pain and not be able to help.

That's my Monday for ya...
Till next time
