We had a fun filled Saturday and Sunday. Emily had a wonderful time at her friend Sadie's birthday party. Happy the clown was wonderful. Sarah did a beautiful party and we were so happy to celebrate with her.
I had to leave the party early to go to my friends Andrea and Tonya's committment ceremony in Shreveport. It was a wonderful heartfelt ceremony and I was honored to be there. Attending the service sparked some very stimulating discussion on the way home and it was very exciting to think about the hard questions we face in our world. Here is a picture of the happy couple.

After the ceremony, we met my parents out for dinner and drinks at the pub in Bossier. We had a great time visiting and just being together. I even got to see my old band director, Barry Vowell. He recently retired from teaching after thirty-eight years. I hope I can be as impactful as he was when I begin teaching.
Church was great today. Cindy and I went to Sunday School and we learned about St.Anthony, the first monk. We had a very interesting discussion about how being a hermit monk can teach us about a real walk as a disciple of Christ. We may not be called to sell everything and go live out in the wilderness, but we are called to listen to what the voice of God is telling us about our walk with Christ and our witness to the world.
Cowboys, What happened?
After returning Cindy to her husband, David, Emily and I came home to get ready for our football party. We had the Collins' and the Jacobs over for the big game. All the kids had a great time playing outside and inside. David burnt the burgers, but we had plenty of hot dogs and chips. Christy's spinach artichoke dip was very yummy and the Boston Cream Pie that Sarah bought was sinfully delicious. Kiddos had thier fill around halftime so everyone headed on out. I just love a house full of friends. I love to entertain and get to know my friends better. The Cowboys were having an off night and managed to lose the came thanks to missed opportunities and penalties. HELLO... Holding is not allowed, let's see if we can't remember that next week!
Here are some pics of the kiddos enjoying dinner:
