Birthday Party and Paper Dolls

Hi Everyone,
Over the weekend we celebrated David's 40th birthday. We decided to buy brisket instead of trying to cook outdoors in the sweltering heat. We had a great turn out for the party and it went off without a hitch.

Today I had to work on a project for school. I had to complete an author board on the children's author Judith Viorst. She has some much loved classics. In the process I got to use my paper doll cartridge for my cricut and I made some paper dolls with Emily. It was great fun. Here are some pictures of our results. I think I am going to try and make her some dolls that she can dress up. Maybe felt on cardboard or laminating them and attaching velcro.. I will post when I decide.

Oh my, naked dolls...gotta get them some clothes :)

Emily had company over the weekend. Her friend Nikola came over and brought his grandma and grandpa. I just love spending time with these dear friends. Here are the two sweet babies holding hands and coloring together.

I wanna hold your hand

Tomorrow I am going to get to do something super awesome. I am going to the East Texas Literacy Council to learn about volunteering to teach people to read. I watched my Mom do this when I was a kid and I want to serve in the same way.
I have such a heart for literacy and hope I can do some good.

I'll let you know how it goes.

Till next time..
