Dewey Decimals

I love the Dewey Decimal system! I am always amazed that in a library filled with thousands upon thousands of books, I can find just the one I am looking for. I am taking a class called children's literature and Drama. Part of the requirements are to review and summarize a variety of children's books. Well let me tell you, the search engine at Amazon and my library online catalog make it so easy to find the books I need. I just search children's books on Amazon and then paste my results into the Library site and voila, I can see if they have it in stock, get a summary and the Dewey Decimal number to locate it at my local branch. That Dewey fella was some kind of smart!!

And PS: the library is FULL of wonderful children's books. I just found a great one mom used to read to me when I was a kid, Miss Nelson is Missing. It is about some bad kids who end up with a very bad substitute teacher.

The trouble is, they will only let you check out 10 books at a time (what is their problem?).

Oh, Jamie and Terry, you need to check out an author named Jen Lancaster (super dry bitey wit, you will love her).

This past weekend, Emily and I went to visit my sister Eve for her birthday. It should be noted that in my previous post, I said, "My sister and her partners sent me flowers" for the record, Eve only has one super lovely partner and her name is Kim. Sorry girls :O)
Anyway we had the best time and Eve's birthday was celebrated with a big ole house full of friends and family, No better way I say. On Sunday, Kim, Mom, and I decided to see if we could find some good deals at the Goodwill. We also visited Big Lots and a Burkes outlet. Deals, deals, deals. I got two super cute skirts at the Goodwill that are perfect for school. I scored two adorable jackets at Burkes that were just my style and I got a new computer rolley cart thing for my laptop, but the jury is still out on that.

This weekend we celebrate David's birthday. He is turning the big 40!! I think he is taking it in stride though.

I am working on home work just now, but i heard something at bible study today that was kind of profound and I would welcome your thoughts. We were discussing pardon vs. parole and pardon vs. forgiveness in the bible and one of our class members said this:

"God pardons us for what we have done, and forgives us for who we are"

I thought that was way cool and very deep for a Wednesday :) Tell me what you think.
Till next time,
Love ya
